The new Shimano Ultegra R8000 groupset has improved on an already stellar Ultegra line of components, and the BR-8010 direct mount aero rear brake caliper is proof positive in Shimano’s trickle down effect from their professional-level Dura-Ace components. By attaching the brake caliper directly to the underside of the chainstays, tucked behind the bottom bracket, Shimano has not only reduced redundant parts and increased the brake’s performance but enhanced aerodynamics. Furthermore, this direct mount caliper can handle wider, 28c tires with aplomb.
