The distillery (founded in 2011 in a former 19th-Century coal yard!) is the first legal distillery since Prohibition. It features a 600-liter still, and a lean team of six that operates and bottles nearly all week. Now that’s dedication! Fun fact: Co-founder John Curtain let us know that the name of this rye, “Ironweed,” comes from the 1983 novel title (which takes place in Albany!), that was later adapted into a film featuring Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep.
