After years hunting down the coolest and tastiest products around, we were still craving our favorite childhood bars. But the mass-produced, grocery store versions just didn’t measure up anymore in terms of quality. Our CEO Craig got the tasting team together and said: “Let’s indie-fy!” So he and our tasting team worked closely with one of our chocolatier friends to create this incredibly different but totally familiar bar, plus the Toffee Break and the High Five. We Mouths also spend a lot of time obsessing over coffee. We instantly perk up at the sound of “Anyone want coffee?” A heated debate is always, ahem, brewing over cold brew made with whole milk vs. soymilk vs. water. We can neither confirm nor deny the existence of a secret snack drawer trading network, swapping espresso-infused cookies, smoky salsa with a hint of kafe, sweet granola laced with fragrant grounds. Just about any coffee-flavored goodie is good by us. But this here’s not your run-of-the-mill, sugary chocolate blended with enough too-bitter beans to give you a mega sugar-caffeine high for the rest of the afternoon, complete with unavoidable crash. Mouth’s version pairs one of our favorite indie coffees – smooth and nutty Donut’s Friend Blend, roasted by Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin – with white chocolate. The organically grown beans are ground to a fine grain that doesn’t taste chalky, then blended into smooth 35% white chocolate. Boom. tip of the tongue We’re breaking off a few squares of this bar whenever we need a sweet boost and don’t have time to drink, let alone brew, a cup of coffee.
