Matthiasson Wine Matthiasson Tendu Red Wine

Here’s how winemaker Steve Matthiasson describes his red: “Tendu refers to tension, or poise, and we wanted that character to define the wine. It is racy, zingy, alive. It is the wine to drink on a picnic blanket in Dolores Park, to take up to Lake Tahoe, or to toast friends while waiting for the grill to heat up.” Okay, we’re in! Matthiasson blends Aglianico, Montepulciano, and Barbera grapes grown at the Windmill Vineyard in Yolo County, California. The grapes are grown and harvested using organic practices, fermented in stainless steel, aged in neutral barrels, and bottled without filtration or sulfur. It’s a fresh, fun, delicious wine with aromas of ripe cherries and flavors of tart red fruit and a touch of star anise spice. At just 11. 7% alcohol by volume, Tendu Red is easy drinking (in a liter bottle!) but with enough backbone and structure to complement a wide range of food. Matthiasson only made a few hundred barrels of this wine, so once it’s gone, it’s gone forever! tip of the tongue The spice and structure of this wine make it an awesome pairing for Indian, Moroccan or Ethiopian food.
