Carr’s Ciderhouse Apple Cider Syrup

Carr’s sweet yet tangy syrup is made just like maple syrup, but they start with 100% apple cider instead of maple sap. Then it gets boiled down until it’s thick and caramelized. It sounds pretty simple, but it gets a lot more complicated when you’re also growing the apples and making the cider! Jonathan Carr and Nicole Blum moved to Hadley, Massachusetts, more than 13 years ago to make hard cider (Jonathan even has a Master’s Degree in hard cider apples. Seriously.) After years of harvesting, pressing, fermenting and bottling, they decided it was time to add to the lineup, and their Apple Cider Syrup and Apple Cider Vinegar were born. How do you like them apples?! tip of the tongue This syrup is pretty im-press-ive (ha!) in all kinds of sweet and savory guises: Pour it on pancakes and waffles, of course, but it’s also fantastic brushed onto roasted chicken or pork, added to a marinade, or mixed into cocktails, soda or ginger tea.
