Start with the frame, which incorporates Breezer D’Fusion tubing, including a unique D-shape profile on the top and down tubes near the head tube intersection and at the top tube-seat tube intersection. This reduces the stress that travels though these joints, which keeps your frame lively and reduces the risk of frame fatigue. In the rear triangle, D’Fusion tubing adds rigidity to the chainstays through a wider cross-section, while positioning the broad area outboard, to reduce chain suck. This eliminates the need for heavy gussets and keeps the frame light and responsive. Next, the Squall is built up with Shimano Deore components, which are among the unsung heroes of mountain biking componentry. Shimano’s Deore mixes the right balance of performance and reliability with excellent value, and over the the years it’s been tweaked and refined, so that it boasts many of the features of more expensive, top-of-the line Shimano components.
