We’ve never sipped a tall, cool glass of water taken straight from a limestone spring, but we imagine it’s something like this refreshing white wine. Crisp, citrusy, cool and minerally. This dry, 100% riesling is the vineyard’s signature wine, and we taste why. It’s fermented in small batches, which are blended together to ensure consistent flavor and texture. Hermann J. Wiemer was one of the first people to realize that the climate and soil in the Finger Lakes area of New York is similar to that of the Mosel Valley in Germany, which is famous for riesling. And the winery he founded makes world-class beauties from classic German grapes that we thoroughly enjoy. tip of the tongue Sweet rieslings might be more well-known, but we think dry varieties are much more versatile.
