The V5 version of our Computerized GoTo Hand Controller for object-locating Orion GoTo mounts and telescopes features an extensive database of over 42,000 interesting celestial objects to explore. What’s new is addition of a USB port for controlling a USB-compatible GoTo mount from a computer, or for updating firmware when newer versions are released. (It still has an RS-232 serial port as well, like the V4 version.) V5 also adds some new languages, including Chinese (simplified), Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Croatian, Hungarian, Romanian, and others. Once attached to a compatible Orion telescope mount and aligned, the V5 Computerized GoTo Hand Controller will accurately point the mount and attached telescope at any visible object selected from its database. On any clear night, the GoTo hand controller will lead you and your telescope on an exciting tour of galaxies, star clusters, nebulas, double-stars, variable-stars, planets, and more. The SynScan V5 Computerized GoTo Hand Controller is compatible with Orion HDX110 EQ-G, Atlas Pro AZ/EQ-G, Atlas EQ-G, Sirius Pro AZ/EQ-G, Sirius EQ-G, SkyView Pro GoTo, StarSeeker, and StarBlast AutoTracker mounts. The Controller includes a bracket and hook-and-loop strap for attachment of the controller to a tripod leg, as well as cables to connect the hand controller to your mount. NOTE: The V5 does NOT include a USB or RS-232 serial cable. These can be purchased separately from stores that carry electronic goods. The USB cable you will most likely need is a USB-A (male) to USB-B (male), which is the type usually used for printers. The USB port on the SynScan hand controller is a B-type port; computers usually have A-type ports. All telescope mounts sold separately.
