Heavyweight Polypropylene webbing 1-1/2 inch has a breaking strength of 1350 pounds with a thickness of 0.060 of an inch. They are available in the following buckle styles: Plastic Black single Adjust 1-1/2 inch, Plastic White Single Adjust 1-1/2 inch, metal / Plastic Hybrid 1-1/2 inch and Aluminum 1-1/2 inch. These can also double as a quick tie-down strap or lashing in a pinch. These belts are also Airport / Metal Detector Safe depending on the type of buckle you choose.If used other than belts, keep in mind the characteristics of the different types of webbing.Side Release Buckle Belts made with heavyweight polypropylene webbing are suitable for medium duty applications. It has excellent UV protection and does not absorb water quickly. However, polypropylene does not have good abrasion resistance, so it is not recommended for use against rough edges.Side Release Buckle Belts made with lightweight polypropylene webbing are ideally suited for outdoor light duty use. Other than breaking strength and webbing thickness, they have the same attributes as heavyweight polypropylene webbing.Side Release Buckle Belts made with flat nylon webbing is the webbing of choice for high abrasion applications. It is not recommended for use in or around water continuously because it is less water resistant, making it susceptible to mildew and rot.Side Release Buckle Belts made with polyester webbing has the same attributes and characteristics as patterned polyester.
