These can also double as a quick tie-down strap or lashing in a pinch. These belts are also Airport / Metal Detector Safe depending on the type of buckle you choose.If used other than belts, keep in mind the characteristics of the different types of webbing.Side Release Buckle Belts made with flat nylon webbing is the webbing of choice for high abrasion applications. It is not recommended for use in or around water continuously because it is less water resistant, making it susceptible to mildew and rot.Side Release Buckle Belts made with patterned polyester webbing are perfect for heavy loads with high abrasion. Polyester has the best attributes of flat nylon (abrasion resistance) and heavyweight polypropylene (UV protection, water resistance).Strapworks “Patterned Polyester” is polyester that has been sublimated. Sublimation is a process that virtually tattoos the ink into the webbing by turning a solid ink into a permeating gas.
