This 128 Ounce Bowl (SD5614J) from Thunder Group is made of melamine, a material known in the foodservice industry for its durability and resemblance to real china. This bowl is a part of Thunder Group’s Western Melamine Jazz Collection. This bowl is off white with an organic brown finish on the rim and it is made of break-resistant melamine. Melamine is preferred by the foodservice industry because of its superior strength and high heat-resistance. While not recommended for microwave use, melamine can withstand temperatures as high at 220F and as low as 32F, and is commercial dishwasher safe. Melamine is also non-toxic and resists breaking under the daily abuse of use in commercial foodservice.
